This article is authored by late Tahzeebul Isalm Rizvi of Jacobabad about Barkat Ali Azad, a poet, journalist, politician, writer and translator. This article about life and works of AZad, was written in 1983 in Urdu and submitted with Sindh University Jamshoro as a Monograph for MA Journalism by late author. It is translated in Sindhi by Engr. Abdul Wahab Sahito. Its Sindhi version is published in May 2009 issue of Amarta of Kavita Publication Hyderabad Sindh. Same is reproduced herewith.
جناب برڪت علي آزاد صاحب سنڌ جي نامور صحافين ۾ شمار ٿين ٿا. 1937ع کان صحافتي زندگيءَ جو آغاز ڪيائون. پنھنجي ساري زندگي صحافتي مشن کي جاري رکڻ ۾ ڳاري ڇڏيائون. آخر تائين سندن اهو ارادو هيو ته؛ هڪ اهڙي اخبار جاري ڪجي، جنھن ذريعي هر طبقي جي فڪرمند ماڻھن جي رهنمائي ڪري سگهجي.
مون هن مقالي لکڻ ۾ کين وقتاً فوقتاً زحمت ڏني ۽ کانئن مفيد مشورا پڻ ورتا، جن لاءِ مان دليون جانيون سندن ٿورائتو آهيان. ان کان علاوه پراڻين اخبارن ۽ ڪيترن ڪتابن مان، گنجائش آهر استفادو پڻ حاصل ڪيو اٿم.
هيٺ آزاد صاحب جي زندگيءَ کي ننڍڙن موضوعن ۾ ورڇيندي پڙهندڙن جي دلچسپيءَ لاءِ پيش ڪجي ٿي ته جيئن گهڻن لاءِ راهِ عمل پيدا ٿي سگهي.
This book is authored / compiled by late Wali Muhammad Tahirzado, about the life and humor of Watayo Fakir. Watayo of Sindh, Mulla Nasaruddin of Turkey, Aldar Kaisi of Russia, Jooha of Arab, Shaikh Chilly of India are known and familiar to people due to their humorous articulations. Like Mulla Dopiaza and Beerbal, the Ratan of Akbar the great, Watayo is also famous due to his anecdotes. His anecdotes are well known to Sindh Folk and are in vogue in people being the words of common people.
